Roseann Spatafore RN, BSN

Roseann Spatafore’s journey with diabetes began unexpectedly in her late twenties. While pregnant with her daughter at age 27, doctors initially believed she was experiencing gestational diabetes - a form of diabetes that can occur during pregnancy. However, after her daughter was born, it became clear that something more was going on. Roseann was later diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, a life-changing moment that would shape both her personal life and professional calling.

At the time, Roseann was already working as a registered nurse. Despite her medical background, she quickly discovered how limited and overwhelming resources felt. Determined to take control of her health, she immersed herself in research and eventually sought out expert guidance, even paying out of pocket to learn everything she could about managing diabetes in a sustainable, empowering way. She wasn’t just managing diabetes - she was studying it, questioning it, and learning how to make it work within real life.

Founder of Diabetes Simplified

Years later, diabetes became even more personal. When her daughter was just four and a half years old, Roseann began noticing subtle changes and symptoms that others might have missed. Trusting both her instincts as a mother and her training as a nurse, Roseann recognized the signs early and pursued testing. Her daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes - caught early because Roseann knew what to look for.

That experience solidified Roseann’s passion. As both a nurse and a mother raising a child with Type 1 Diabetes, she became deeply committed to understanding diabetes care, education, and long-term management - not just clinically, but practically and compassionately.

Now, with over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse and decades of lived experience with diabetes, Roseann felt called to do something more. She saw how many individuals and families felt confused, discouraged, or alone - and she knew there had to be a better way to support them.

In 2026, Diabetes Simplified was born.

Finn takes his role at Diabetes Simplified very seriously. As the first line of defense, he is responsible for monitoring all suspicious activity - especially delivery drivers. No package goes unnoticed on his watch.

When he’s not protecting the office, Finn enjoys long walks, carrying his favorite stuffed animals, and reminding everyone that barking is a valid form of communication. Loyal, alert, and always on duty, Finn ensures the Diabetes Simplified workspace remains safe… and well announced.

Maurice is a Florida transplant who has fully embraced the art of leisure. His days are carefully scheduled around lounging in sunbeams as they move throughout the house, monitoring office activity from a safe distance, and keeping a close eye on Finn.

While Diabetes Simplified is a judgment-free zone, Maurice, unfortunately, did not get that memo. Known for his quiet stares and selective approval, he spends his free time stalking lizards and silently assessing everyone’s life choices. Though he prefers to work independently, Maurice plays a vital role in maintaining balance, perspective, and vibes.
